District Results:
District Competition #1: Lake City High School (March 9 - 10)
We ended qualification rounds in 8th place and captained the #5 alliance. We were knocked out after two matches in the elimination rounds . Pictured is the team with the Industrial Design Award presented by General Motors that the team won at the Lake City Competition.
Here is the script that was read by the emcee:
"The Industrial Design Award sponsored by General Motors celebrates the team that demonstrates industrial design principles, striking a balance between form, function, and aesthetics. This team has developed simple solutions for their Real World robotics problems. The elegant and reliable application of mechanical design and control solutions has proven consistent. 'Lief the Lucky' and its Norsemen are sailing to victory. Congratulations, Team number 3688 - Norsemen Suttons Bay, MI."
Congratulations Team 3688!
District Competition #2: Traverse City West High School (March 15 - 16)
The Norsemen finished qualification matches in 12th place, and were the first pick of the 4th alliance for playoffs. Though our alliance fell after three playoff matches, we are extremely proud of our strong offensive performance throughout the competition! Additionally, we were honored to be the recipient of the Quality Award, which recognizes robustness in robot concept and fabrication.
Once again, we would like to extend our thanks to our sponsors - this would not be possible without you! Thank you again for your support! Go Norse!
